GROOMING
Is your horse indoors or outdoors?
Being outdoors allows your horse to roll and rub naturally. In addition, the wind will blow away dead hair and skin, and the rain will offer a useful rinse on occasion. If your horse is stabled for long periods, you will need to provide extra grooming to compensate for the lack of natural grooming.
TIP
- If your horse is usually stabled, you will also need to pay extra attention to your horse’s hooves as they are more prone to diseases such as thrush due to standing around in manure and urine. Pick them out at least once daily and give them a wash occasionally.
