GROOMING
How often should you wash your horse
Washing your horse too often runs the risk of stripping the coat of natural oils. Reserve washing for special occasions when you want your horse to look great, but never use a strong detergent, which may cause irritation.
You can remove sweat after exercise by using a wet sponge or a hose with no detergent, then rubbing with a towel. Your horse may then choose to roll in the dust for a while!
TIP
- If your horse is to wear a rug, make sure the coat is thoroughly dry after washing.
