Is there a chance my horse could catch the Hendra virus from the vaccine?

There is zero risk of Hendra virus infection resulting from vaccination. This is because the vaccine does not contain any whole Hendra virus. The vaccine’s active ingredient is a tiny protein that’s found on the surface of the virus. This protein is produced in a laboratory without having to harvest it directly from the virus.
