Get the facts on Tetanus

Tetanus is an often-fatal bacterial disease that enters a horses’ body through puncture wounds and then releases a powerful neurotoxin. As the bacterium can survive in the environment for a long period of time, Tetanus can surprise even the most vigilant horse owners.

Early treatment will greatly improve chances of survival but vaccination is essential for helping a horse's immune system defend itself against potential infections.
